Dungog: Aussie charm in a nutshell! This New South Wales gem offers a perfect blend of history, artsy vibes, and friendly faces. Nestled amid rolling hills and the Williams River, it’s a top spot for a laid-back escape with a dash of rural magic

Situated three hours by road north of Sydney and is on the XPT train line (3hr30 minutes from Sydney Central Station – 1hr10 minutes from Newcastle). The Dungog Common is a well-known mountain biking destination in New South Wales, featuring outstanding flow tracks and over 30 kms of mountain bike tracks. Its new Velosolutions Pump Track and dual slalom course (opening in May 2024) has solidified its recognition as an outstanding MTB destination in Australia.

Travel
Getting to Dungog from Sydney airport is best by Rail, requires train changes at Sydney’s central station and Newcastle’s Interchange Station. Takes approx’ 3hrs. Best site is Transport NSW Trip Planner | transportnsw.info

Camping is available at the Dungog Showground – this can be booked with help from the visitors centre. There is also a campground 20 minutes south at Clarancetown.

Starting fees
  • AUD 20.00 for the Juniors´categories
  • AUD 30.00 for the Elite´s and master´s categories

  • Elite Women & Men (17+): (2007 or older) 
  • Juniors U13: 11-12 years old (2012-2013)
  • Juniors U15: 13-14 years old (2010-2011)
  • Juniors U17: 15-16 years old (2008-2009)
  • Masters +35  (1989 or older)

License

An official UCI ID or any kind of cycling licence (Daily, Road, BMX, MTB, Cycling for all, etc.) from the National Cycling Federation is required to participate at this race. Foreign riders need to have an official licence from their own National Cycling Federation to participate abroad.

    timed runs: Solo run – two runs, the faster one counts
    knock-out-heat finals: solo runs
  • Juniors & Masters 
    timed runs: open format, top 4 qualify to finals
    knock-out- heat- finals: solo runs
