Pump Track Chopwell Park is a 240m pump track with a 40m beginner loop situated in Chopwell, a former coal mining village in the picturesque Derwent Valley, near Newcastle-upon-Tyne in North East England. The track opened in 2020 and is the only symmetrical track in the UK, which means two riders can be on track simultaneously for exciting head-to- head racing.
Once the centre of global industry, the region is now popular with tourists for the stunning landscapes of the nearby North Pennines and Northumberland National Park, Newcastle’s famous city architecture, icons such as Hadrian’s Wall and the Angel of the North, and the rugged North Sea coast. Home to Olympic BMX freestyle silver medallist Kieran Reilly and two-time downhill MTB World Champion Danny Hart, the North East is a place of contrasts and its people are known for their warmth and friendliness.
